Distribution Characteristics of Organic Matter in Water Bodies of Different Functional Areas in Suzhou Section of Tuo River
[Purposes]This paper takes the Suzhou section of Tuo River as the research object and then ana-lyzes the distribution characteristics of organic matter in water bodies in different functional areas of Yongqiao District,Suzhou City(residential areas, agricultural areas, industrial areas, and traffic areas)to evaluate the water conditions.[Methods]21 samples were collected from different river sections in the flow area, and the organic carbon and ultraviolet characteristics in water body were analyzed by ultraviolet spectral absorption technology.[Findings]The results show that the total organic carbon(TOC)concentration in the industrial area is the highest, and the molecular weight of DOM in each functional area is ranked as follows according to the ultraviolet-visible spectral characteristic parameters:industrial area>residential area>agricultural area>transportation area.Correlation studies on the data revealed that the larger the molecular weight of DOM,the higher the degree of aromatization.[Conclusions]The industrial area has a high aromaticity that easily adsorbs heavy metals causing pollution, and both the industrial and residential areas have high DOM values, abundant protein-like substances, and strong autochthonous characteristics.
