Comparative Analysis on the Evolvement of Structure of Inbound Tourism Market in China’s Western Regions
The geographic concentration index,the preference scale,and the market competition state index were used to analyze the rules of the evolvement of structure of inbound tourism market in Yunnan,Shaanxi,Sichuan Provinces,by selecting 2001 to 2012 statistics related to inbound tourism about the three provinces. Results show that the“reversed pareto principle”characteristics of inbound tourism market of the three provinces,are different from the“pareto principle”features of the inbound tourism market of China’s eastern coastal cities,meaning that their tourism markets mainly consists of foreign tourists,supplemented by tourists from Hongkong,Macau and Taiwan;The gradation of the structure of inbound tourism market has distinct levels ,assuming the steady development trend;The difference of the preference countries and the four markets of BCG matrix between these three provinces are notable,which has a close correlation with the tourism policy,tourism resources characteristics and geographical location and other factors of the three provinces.
