Research Progress on the Altermagnetism and Its Interplay with Superconductivity
In recent years, altermagnetism, with its unique momentum-space-dependent spin splitting, broken time-reversal symmetry, and zero net magnetic moment, has become the most popular magnetic system beyond ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism.Given that the study of the interplay of magnetism and superconductivity has always been an important platform for exploring new quantum physics, this article summarizes the new progress in altermagnetism in recent years,as well as the emergence of novel phenomena from its interplay with superconductivity.By interacting with superconductivity, the special magnetic properties of altermagnetism may induce the finite-momentum pairing, which not only enriches the research in the field of superconductivity, but also has important implications for the realization of the superconducting diode effect and the development of superconducting spintronics through the nonreciprocal transport properties.
