The Study of the spatial distribution of natural protected areas(NPAs)is a basis work for constructing the new protected areas systems.This paper investigated spatial distribution characteristics of 297 NAPs grouped into 5 type in Henan Province using the methods of nearest neighbor index and kernel density.The results are as follows:(1)NAPs in Henan Province are distributed in an aggregation manner and exhibit a concentrated distribution pattern in the shape of three lines which are mainly gathered along the Taihang Mountains Area in the northwest,Funiu Mountain Area in the west,Yellow River hot spot in the middle and Tongbai-Dabie Mountain Area in the southeast.(2)Base on the situation of protected areas constructing system in China,this paper make suggestions on the new protected areas systems construction in Henan Province.
