Study on Biosafety Evaluation of Astaxanthin-loaded Microcapsules
In order to evaluate the biosafety of our self-made astaxanthin-loaded microcapsules, the effects of which were conducted on the growth and antioxidant capacity of Yellow River carp(Cyprinus carpio).Compared with the control feeding with empty microcapsules, the survival and weight gain rate of Cyprinus carpio of treat-ment with astaxanthin-loaded microcapsules were higher. In the present study, the total antioxidant capacity(T-AOC)of hepatopancreatic tissues in the experimental groups Cyprinus carpio were higher than the control, but with no significance(p>0.05).Whereas,the activity of glutathione peroxidase(GSH),superoxide dismutase(SOD)of Cyprinus carpio in treatment group were significantly higher than that of the control(p<0.05).The content of mal-ondialdehyde(MDA)in the hepatopancreatic tissues of treatment group were lower than that of the control, with no significance(p>0.05).The results indicated that the self-made astaxanthin-loaded microcapsules exhibited biosafe-ty in the future aquaculture.
