The classifier-noun constructions in Qidong dialect can express numeral,generic reference,definite reference and indefinite reference meanings.The classifier-noun constructions,which deliver numeral meanings,are mainly found in negative,quantitative distributive,and interrogative sentences.The generic classifier-noun constructions are more used at the beginning of a sentence.The definite or indefinite classifier-noun constructions can be used alone or be modified by other com-ponents,syntactically acting as the subject or object.And pragmatically,they are used to express deictic,anaphoric,associa-tive-anaphoric,recognitional,and larger situational references.
