Reaffirming Moral Enlightenment and Advancing Institutional Enlightenment:Reflections on the Enlightenment from the Perspective of Modernity Issues
The issues of modernity mainly arise from the irrational use of the rational achievements of modern society,such as power,capital,belief,and technology.To analyze and address these issues,one should look for causes and solutions in the Enlightenment,which initiated modern society and emphasized rationality as its core principle.The emergence and ex-istence of modernity issues are closely related to the Enlightenment's lack of emphasis on moral enlightenment and the failure to establish just and rational institutions during the Enlightenment's practice.Reaffirming moral enlightenment to compensate for the shortcomings of Enlightenment thought and advancing institutional enlightenment to address the flaws in Enlightenment practice are the two main aspects of reflecting on the Enlightenment from the perspective of modernity issues.These aspects also form the ideological foundation and practical approach for solving and preventing modernity issues.
