Analysis on the Spatial Differentiation of Chongqing's Regional Development Based on the Agglomeration of Urban Elements
In order to reveal the spatial differentiation of regional development among 38 districts and counties in Chongqing from 2005 to 2019,this article conducts an empirical analysis based on the urban factor agglomeration capacity index,combined with the Cui Wang index and obstacle degree evaluation method.Results show as follows.(1)The regional development level of Chongqing is gradually increasing periodically,but in a state of significant disequilibrium.There are obvious spatial differentiation characteristics and polarization between the core(main ur-ban area)and the periphery(non-main urban area),which is more serious.However,it is declining over time.(2)Factors including non-agricultural industry output value,per capita GDP,non-agricultural employment,year-end financial institution loan balance,public budget revenue,and total output value of enterprises above the desig-nated size are key obstacles that restrict the coordinated regional development of Chongqing.Their formation mecha-nisms are closely related to the topography and location,and the spatial distribution of poverty-stricken counties.(3)In order to realize the free flow of elements and the Chongqing regional coordinated development,this paper proposes to further strengthen the core agglomeration capacity and diffusion driving effect of the main urban area,weaken the influence of topography on the spatial interaction,build a"one circle,two wings,one main and two sidelines"spatial structure,and deepen the"going out,bringing in"to the outside world countermeasures and sug-gestions for opening up strategies,strengthening(science and technology,institutional mechanisms,talents,etc.)innovation and leading role in the construction of ecological civilization.Research results show that the research method of spatial differentiation of regional development derived from the agglomeration capacity of urban elements can vividly present the movement of elements in the curve of"development potential"and the cost of factor move-ment,which is the main influencing factor for the spatial differentiation of regional development.Its formation mechanism has a strong explanatory power.Chongqing can construct a path for the regional coordinated development from the level of the free flow of regional urban elements at low cost and the core role in the peripheral radiation.
