Analysis of Spatial Characteristics and Multi-scale Effects of Influencing Factors of County Economic Development in Jiangsu
Exploring the spatial and temporal evolution of regional economic disparities and their driving fac-tors is of great significance for narrowing regional differences and promoting coordinated, healthy, and high-quality development of the regional economy. Here, nighttime light data and traditional economic data were combined to comprehensively characterize the level of regional economic development, spatial analysis methods were used to characterize the spatial pattern evolution characteristics of county-level economic disparities in Jiangsu province from 2005 to 2020,and multi-scale geographically weighted regression models were adopted to explore the scale differ-ences and spatial heterogeneity of influencing factors. Results show as follows.①The"center-periphery"character-istic of Jiangsu's regional economy is prominent, with the economic leading role of urban areas in northern Jiangsu gradually becoming prominent and the economic radiation circle of counties and cities in southern Jiangsu continu-ously expanding.Overall, the agglomeration effect is constantly strengthening.② The polarization phenomenon of Jiangsu's economic development is still prominent, and the absolute gap in economic development is widening, but the relative gap is decreasing.③ The center of economic development in Jiangsu province is increasingly moving northward, with a greater expansion trend in the north-south direction than in the east-west direction.④The indus-trial development has the strongest impact on the county-level economic disparities, followed by the market guid-ance,basic conditions, and government regulation. The impact of outward pull is not significant. On the scale of in-fluence,the industrial development, market dynamics, and outward dynamics have larger scale effects, while basic conditions and government regulation have smaller scale effects. The multi-scale geographically weighted regression model better demonstrates the scale effects of influencing factors on the regional economic development and the non-stationary characteristics of spatial relationships.
