Characteristics and Regionalization of Sauna Days in the Huaihe River Basin Based on Climate Factors
Revealing the spatio-temporal evolution patterns of sauna days can provide a basis for responding to extreme climate events.Based on the daily maximum temperature and relative humidity data of 40 meteorological stations in the Huaihe River Basin from 1960 to 2020,the spatio-temporal variation characteristics of sauna days in the Huaihe River Basin were analyzed by using the linear regression,Morlet wavelet analysis, and EOF and REOF decomposition. The results showed that the total number of sauna days in the Huaihe River Basin from 1960 to 2020 was 32 906 days, the maximum number of sauna days was 19 730 days(59.96%),and the minimum number of extreme sauna days was 2 021 days(6.14%).From 1960 to 2020,the total number of sauna days, sauna days and strong sauna days in the Huaihe River Basin showed decreasing trend, with tendency rates of-24.63 d/10a,-13.38 d/10a and-12.94 d/10a,respectively.The extreme sauna days increased with the tendency rate of 1.69 d/10a.Since the 21st century, the number of sauna days and strong sauna days had continued to decrease, and the number of extreme sauna days had increased significantly in the 2010s.During the latest 61 years, the main periodic variation of heat waves was 28 a,and the minor periodic variations were 17 a,8 a and 4 a in the Huai Riv-er Basin. The EOF analysis showed that the first mode was the decisive mode, which reflected the overall consisten-cy of sauna day change trend in the Huaihe River Basin. The REOF expansion revealed that the spatial distribution of sauna days in the Huaihe River Basin could be divided into five climatic partitions, with significant differences in the variation of sauna days among each zone.
