Influence of Digital Development on Economic Resilience of Resource-Based Cities in China
Digital development is helpful to strengthen the ability of regional economies to resist external shocks and promote the resilience of urban economies. In this paper, the level of digital development and economic resilience of resource-based cities from 2011 to 2021 were calculated, and the mechanism of digital development on the economic resilience of resource-based cities was empirically analyzed using the fixed effect model and the spatial Durbin model. The following results are found.(1)The digital development level of resource-based cities continues to rise, showing two stages(i.e.,a steady rise and a rapid growth),and the urban economic resilience shows a"U"upward trend(i.e.,first falling and then rising). There is a gap between the urban economic resilience at dif-ferent development stages.(2)Digital development plays a significant role in promoting the economic resilience of resource-based cities, which is still significant from the spatial perspective.(3)The promotion effect of digital de-velopment on the urban economic resilience is heterogeneous at different development stages, with the order from high to low being growth cities, regenerative cities, and mature cities. But the influence on recession cities is not significant. The research puts forward some suggestions for digital development:the incline of development policy towards the direction of industrial digitalization, avoiding homogenization and excessive investment in resources, and formulating differentiated development strategies.
