On the Development Process,Status Quo and Strategies of Chinese Edu-cation in Finland
The Chinese education in Finland has gone through three stages of development:traditional sinol-ogy,the transition from traditional sinology to modern one,and the current parrallel development of modern sinol-ogy and Chinese teaching.Bilateral relations,economic and trade cooperation,language policies,and the number of Chinese people are important factors affecting the development of Chinese education in Finland.At present,the development of Chinese education in Finland is characterized by an increasing number of teaching institutions and diversified levels of academic qualifications.Faced with such problems as the small size of teaching institutions and imbalanced distribution of schools in the basic education and high school stage,a predominance of elective courses in Chinese language courses and a scarcity of professional Chinese courses in the higher education stage,and a reli-ance on family education in Chinese language learning for ethnic Chinese,the insufficiency of the development of Chinese schools and of localized teaching resources as well as weak local teaching staffs,some strategies proposed in this paper involve strengthening top-level design based on the demand,establishing a good guidance of public opinion and training high-level local Chinese talents,developing Chinese education in virtual space,accelerating the development of localized and digital teaching resources,strengthening the construction of Chinese subjects in colleges and universities,as well as setting up the subject radiation center,etc.
