The organic combination of historical materialism,political economy criticism and scientific social-ism is the foundation of understanding Capital as"an artistic whole".Furthermore,Capitalas an artistic whole is embodied as follows:firstly,the inherent unity of historical materialism,political economy criticism,and scien-tific socialism;secondly,the organic unity of the views on truth,history,and values;and thirdly,the intrinsic unity of the critique and construction of modernity.It is obvious that an in-depth study of the profound connotation of Capital as"an artistic whole"is of indispensable significance not only for us to grasp the true spirit of Capital,but also for the practice of socialism with Chinese characteristics and even the generation of new forms of human civilization.
