The Professional Development of Master of International Chinese Lan-guage Education in the Context of New Liberal Arts Construction:Chal-lenges and Countermeasures
In the face of the strategic overall situation of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and the unprededented changes in a century,the initiative of new liberal arts construction has been regarded as an impor-tant development strategy for Chinese higher education as well as a basis for further reforms and innovation in the liberal arts majors.Through an analysis of the development and research status of Master of International Chinese Education,it can be seen that the development of the master of International Chinese education in the context of new liberal arts construction faces such challenges as the lack of strict standards for the entry threshold and evalua-tion,the limitations of the training programs in terms of core courses and practical teaching,as well as the inad-equacy of graduates in professional capacity and accomplishment.In accordance with the requirements of the new liberal arts construction,it is proposed that the development of the master of international Chinese education should focus on the"five aspects",namely,goal,ideology,profession,mode,and curriculum,involving specifically the clarification of career and disciplinary development goals,the implementation of"grand ideological and political education",the implementation of"compehensive education in three aspects",the optimization of professional rela-tionships,the achievement of the coordinated development between Chinese and foreign research institutions,the innovation of professional evaluation and training models,the improvement of curriculum and teaching systems,as well as the enhancement of teaching quality and efficiency through new technologies.
