Chinese Language Teachers of"One Source,Two Directions"in Malay-sia:Evolution,Status Quo,and Optimization
The construction of the Chinese teacher team is the cornerstone of sustainable and high-quality de-velopment of Chinese language education,and is also a key element for the eventual inclusion of the Chinese lan-guage in the national education system of various overseas countries.According to different Chinese learning needs,teachers in Malaysia can be divided into Chinese language teachers and Mandarin language teachers,whose evolu-tion stage and development status fully reflect the country-specific traits of the"one source,two directions"model.However,due to such issues as the insufficient number of teachers,the lack of qualifications and the imperfect man-agement mechanism,the development of Chinese teachers in Malaysia is limited.Therefore it is suggested optimiz-ing the teaching staff in terms of teacher training,management and development according to the theory of"Chi-nese international communication circle".Moreover,efforts can be made to rely on Confucius Institutes to strengthen the cooperation between China and Malaysia in nternational Chinese education talents,and promote the steady development of the"one source,two directions"model of Chinese education in Malaysia.
