The Quo Status,Realistic Challenges,and Development Path of Chinese Language Teaching Resources in India
Chinese language teaching in India has a history of over a hundred years.Although it started early,the development of Chinese language teaching resources has lagged behind,which has constrained the rapid devel-opment of Chinese language education in India.This paper reviews the use and construction of paper and digital Chinese language teaching resources in basic education,higher education and other teaching institutions in India.As found in the study,the current development of Chinese language teaching resources in India is faced with three major problems:the lack of Chinese language teaching standards,insufficient research and development motivation for local Chinese language teaching resources,and a shortage of digital teaching resources.As proposed in the pa-per,a scientifically standardized Chinese language teaching syllabus or standard should be formulated to provide a basis and reference for the construction of localized Chinese language resources in India;and meanwhile,efforts should be made to carry out Sino-Indian educational cooperation and promote the construction of high-quality local-ized Chinese language teaching resources in India,as well as to apply science and technology in the development of Chinese language teaching resources so as to achieve leapfrog development of digital Chinese language teaching re-sources in India.
