Prediction of data-based flexural capacity for concrete beam reinforced with FRP bar
Fiber Reinforced Polymer(FRP)is regarded as a reinforced material alternative to steel bars widely used in island and offshore engineering.Referring to the parameters and basic assumptions of relevant codes,a new nondimensionalized parameter μp is introduced by measured load-carrying capacity of 89 concrete beams reinforced with FRP,and the data-based flexural capacity of concrete beam rein-forced with FRP is further given. The reliability and prediction accuracy of proposed methods are verified by the results derived by current codes of China. It is indicated that the analytical results based on data analysis are in good agreement with the experimental data.A Mpre/Mexp ratio ranging from 0.96 to 1.02 is achieved, which provides a new approach to evaluate the ultimate load-carrying capacity of concrete beam reinforced with FRP.
