Study on the effect of Bayer red mud characterization on the working and mechanical properties of cement mortar
In order to improve the utilization rate of Bayer process red mud and added value,it compared different physical and chemi-cal properties of red mud A and red mud B of Bayer process red mud and cement composite mortar fluidity,mechanical strength,and the influence law of microstructure.The research results show that the optimum content of red mud A is 10%,the optimum content of red mud B is 20%,the preparation of Bayer process red mud-mechanical properties of composite cement mortar can be reached P·O 42.5 cement standard strength requirements.In addition,compared with red mud A,the mixed red mud B gives composite mortar has higher mechanical properties,this is mainly because on the one hand,the particle size is relatively small,red mud B help filling slurry pores,improve the den-sity of cement stone,on the other hand,red mud B contains more Na2O、K2O such as free alkali,alkaline excitation effect is more apparent,can accelerate active mineral slurry of hydration.
