Effect of enhancement methods for recycled coarse aggregate on mechanical performance and durability of recycled concrete
The quality of recycled coarse aggregate was improved by three methods:gradation enhancement, chemical slurry enhancement, and gradation-chemical slurry composite enhancement, and the effects of different enhancement methods on the mechanical properties and durability of recycled concrete were investigated. Results show that when the fractal parameter is set to 2.6,the crushing index of recycled coarse aggregate is the smallest, and the improvement effect of the compressive strength of recycled concrete is better, but the improvement of elastic modulus,anti-carbonation,and anti-freezing performance is not obvious. The recycled coarse aggregate reinforced with cement mixed with silica fume slurry can effectively improve the elastic modulus and frost resistance of recycled concrete and reduce the carbonation depth of recycled concrete. The grading-chemical slurry composite strengthening process combines the characteristics of two single enhancement methods and has the best effect on improving the mechanical performance and durability of recycled concrete.
