Performance comparison between preplaced lightweight aggregate concrete and ordinary lightweight aggregate concrete
The physical properties and durability of preplaced lightweight aggregate concrete and ordinary lightweight aggregate concrete with similar strength grade(LC40)are studied. The results show that under the same strength grade, the density of preplaced lightweight aggregate concrete is about 200 kg/m3 lower than that of ordinary lightweight aggregate concrete. At the same time,it has better homogeneity(the difference between the upper and lower mass is only 0.14%,and that of ordinary lightweight aggregate concrete is 1.68%)and volume stability(the dry shrinkage is 1/3 of that of ordinary lightweight aggregate concrete). However, due to the low strength and elastic modulus of lightweight aggregate, the brittleness of lightweight aggregate concrete with the same strength grade increases while the flexural strength and elastic modulus decrease. In addition, accumulating a large amount of lightweight aggregate provides water and ion transmission channels, and the chloride ion diffusion and frost resistance will also decrease.
