Effect of basalt fiber on mechanical and shrinkage property for alkali activated slag mortars
In order to accelerate the development and application of AAS and reduce the excessive shrinkage in the hardening process, the effect of 6 mm basalt fiber on the workability, flexural and compressive strength, autogenous shrinkage and dry shrinkage of AAS mortars were studied, and the microscanning electron microscopy(SEM)test was also conducted. The results show that basalt fiber can effectively inhibit the dry shrinkage of AAS mortars and improve its flexural and compressive strength. When the volume content of basalt fiber is 0.75%,the dry shrinkage at the age of 28 days decreases by 30%and the compressive strength increases by 18.2%.It is also found that basalt fiber can reduce the initial workability of AAS mortars and increase its autogenous shrinkage. It provides the specific law of basalt fiber's influence on the shrinkage performance of AAS mortars, and provides a theoretical basis for engineering practice.
