Ultrasonic testing on the bonding properties of desert sand concrete
The bonded interface between old and new is a potential weak point of concrete structure. In this study,four-point bending strength tests of bonded composite specimens were carried out to analyze the effect of strength and interface treatments on the bonding performance of old and new concrete.Ultrasonic velocities and non-linear ultrasonic parameters were also measured byultrasonic testing technology to analyze the variation pattern between the bonding properties and different ultrasonic parameters. The results indicate that the new concrete containing desert sand improves the bonding strength.Different interface treatments have various influences on the bonding performance. The carried capacity of grooving which is in parallel with loadingis lower than that which is vertical direction to loading.Improved rebound nonlinear ultrasound method was used to predict the bonding performance of bonded composite specimens with high precision.
