To investigate the compressive performance and calculation method of concrete hollow block masonry,it collected 148 sets of compressive test data and seven existing calculation methods at home and abroad.Based on this database,an analysis and evaluation of these existing methods were conducted. The research has shown that the existing calculation methods for compressive strength of concrete hollow block masonry have many differences in selecting calculation parameters, testing sample types, and evaluation index systems,espe-cially in the evaluation index of mortar strength. The increase in compressive strength of masonry is related to the matching relationship be-tween the strength of blocks and mortar. The ratio of compressive strength of masonry to blocks shows an increasing trend followed by a decreasing trend as the ratio of mortar to block strength increases. The"strong block and weak mortar"pattern in the Chinese standard conforms to the law of improving masonry strength, and under current requirements, increasing mortar strength appropriately can still en-hance masonry compressive strength. The strength prediction values of the existing calculation formulas selected are biased towards safety, and the Chinese standard prediction results are relatively better compared to other existing calculation formulas. Finally,it establishes an improved calculation method for the compressive strength of concrete hollow block masonry, which can provide a reference for the later design of concrete block masonry structures.
