Diagnosis value of ultrasound-guided core-needle aspiration biopsy in differential benign and malignant thyroid TI-RADS 4a nodules
Objective To investigate the value of ultrasound-guided core-needle aspiration biopsy(US-CNAB)in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid TI-RADS 4a nodules. Methods A total of 142 patients with thyroid TI-RADS 4a nodules who un-derwent US-NAB in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from Feb.2021 to Jan.2023 were enrolled to evaluate the efficacy of US-CNAB in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid TI-RADS 4a nodules with routine postoperative pathological exami-nation as the"gold standard",and the incidence of complications was statistically calculated. Results There was no significant difference be-tween the results of US-CNAB and the routine pathological results after surgery(P>0.05).The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, and negative predictive value of US-CNAB in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant thyroid TI-RADS 4a nodules were 98.15%,88.24%,95.78%,96.36%,and 93.75%,respectively.After US-CNAB,there was hoarseness and hematoma in 1 case, and the complication rate was 5.88%.Conclusion US-CNAB has a high diagnostic value in differentiat benign and malignant thyroid TI-RADS 4a nodules.
