Research progress on the use of e-cigarettes and pregnancy outcomes in women of childbearing age
This paper uses keywords such as women of childbearing age,e-cigarettes,reproductive health,pregnancy outcomes,fetal exposure to e-cigarettes,e-cigarettes sol,etc.,and combines Chinese and foreign journals and databases such as CNKI,VIP,Wan Fang,PubMed,SCI-hub,Science Direct,Elsevier,etc.to review the research on e-cigarettes in animal experiments in recent years,as well as the relationship between the use of e-cigarettes and pregnancy outcomes in women of childbearing age for the purpose to reduce the potential harm caused by e-cigarette exposure.Relevant literature research shows that nicotine and other toxic components in e-cigarettes have certain reproductive toxicity;animal studies have confirmed that exposure to e-cigarettes is associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes in the lungs,cardiovascular system and brain of the offspring,and many other adverse pregnancy outcomes in newborns.The prospective studies in the human being have also confirmed that e-cigarettes are associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes such as low birth weight,small gestational age,and premature birth.E-cigarettes are not a safe way to quit smoking.Women of childbearing age should be encouraged to stay away from e-cigarettes for improving fertility through Health education.
