Results of hepatitis B serum marker surveillance among children aged 1-5 years in Henan in 2021
Objective To understand the prevalence of serum hepatitis B virus(HBV)biomarkers among children aged 1-5 in different regions of our province, and evaluate the implementation effect of Henan provincial Immunization Plan for Children. Methods In 2021,a cross-sectional survey was conducted selecting 1 776 children aged 1-5 years as study subjects randomly in 27 counties/cities/districts of 18 cities under the jurisdiction of Henan province. The immunization status of hepatitis B was evaluated.Serum hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg),hepatitis B surface antibody(HBsAb)and hepatitis B core antibody(HBcAb)were detected with ELISA method. Results The standardized positive rates of HBsAg,HBsAb,and HBcAb among children aged 1-5 years in Henan province were 0.15%,74.26%,and 12.48%,respectively.The positive rates of HBsAb in every group aged 1-5 years were all more than 78.00%,and the positive rate of HBsAb gradually decreased with the increase of age(x2trend=67.833,P<0.05);the positive rate among children aged 1-<3 years and younger was more than 90.00%.There were statistically significant differences in the positive rates of HBsAb among children with different age groups, different regions and different hepatitis B vaccination histories(all P<0.05).The proportion of HBV susceptible population among children aged 1-5 in Henan province was 13.18%(234/1 776).Conclusions The prevalence of HBsAg in children aged 1-5 years in Henan province remains at a low level, and age, region, and hepatitis B vaccination history have a significant impact on the positivity rates of HBsAb and HBcAb.It is recommended to closely monitor the prevalence of HBsAg in all regions.
