The development status of maternal and child healthcare institutions in Henan province,2016-2020
Objective To analyze the progress and existing problems of maternal and child healthcare(MCH)institutions in Henan province from 2016 to 2020 so as to provide a scientific basis for the further development.Methods The data of MCH institutions about Infrastructure,human resources,service provision and operation status,etc.were collected through the national monitoring and reporting system for MCH institutions,and the changing trend of index were analyzed by dynamic series and compared with the average for the whole country.Results From 2016 to 2020,the average annual growth rates of business room area,number of equipment above 10 000 yuan,actual number of beds,total assets,fixed assets,and professional equipment assets in MCH insti-tutions in Henan province were 11.00%,16.94%,3.47%,13.51%,13.08%,and 14.70%,respectively.The average annual growth rates of the total number of employees,number of the authorized strength of staff,number of health technicians,number of prac-ticing physicians,and number of registered nurses were 7.22%,1.50%,7.38%,6.70%,and 8.63%,respectively.The average an-nual growth rates of total revenue,business revenue,fiscal subsidy revenue,and superior subsidy revenue were 11.17%,8.30%,28.18%,and 9.11%,respectively.The annual average growth rates of the number of outpatient and emergency patients,and the number of discharged patients were 6.55%and 0.85%,respectively.Compared with the whole country,the annual average growth rate of outpatient and emergency services in Henan province is 5.16 times that of the whole country,while the annual average growth rate of health resource indicators such as business room area,number of equipment above 10 000 yuan,actual number of beds,and number of health technicians was only 0.79 to 1.30 times.In 2020,the number of the authorized strength of staff in ma-ternal and child health institutions in Henan province accounted for 41.16%of the total number of employees,and the propor-tion of health technicians was 80.94%.Health technicians with senior professional titles accounted for 7.45%,and health tech-nicians with postgraduate degrees accounted for 4.54%,lower than the national average.Conclusions The total amount of health resources and health service capacity in MCH institutions in Henan province are gradually improving,but the growth rate of health resources does not match the growth of health service demand,and the allocation structure of health human resources needs to be optimized.
