Epidemiological characteristics of sexually transmitted diseases in Erqi district,Zhengzhou city,2018-2022
Objective To understand the epidemiological characteristics of sexually transmitted diseases(STD)in Erqi district,Zhengzhou city so as to provide science evidence for formulating the prevention and control measures.Methods The case information of the five STDs(gonorrhea,syphilis,condyloma acuminatum,genital herpes and genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection)was collected using Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System;the statistical analysis was conducted by SPSS 19.0.Results From 2018 to 2022,a total of 3 428 STD cases were reported in Erqi district.The average annual reported incidence rate of STDs was 74.17 per 100 000.From 2018 to 2022 the annual reported incidence rates were 90.19 per 100 000,90.29 per 100 000,72.64 per 100 000,71.14 per 100 000,and 53.75 per 100 000,respectively,showing a declining trend year by year(x2trend=108.136,P<0.05).The average annual reported incidence rates of gonorrhea,syphilis,condyloma acuminatum,genital herpes and genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection were 11.27 per 100 000,40.91 per 100 000,7.31 per 100 000,0.71 per 100 000,and 13.95 per 100 000,respectively.The reported incidence rates of syphilis were the highest,showing a declining trend(x2trend=64.914,P<0.05).The cases distributed in all sub-districts;Jiefang Road sub-district saw the highest incidence rate(584.12 per 100 000)and Renhe Road sub-district saw the lowest incidence rate(7.88 per 100 000).Of the cases,48.98%were male;the incidence rates in males and females were 71.38 per 100 000 and 77.06 per 100 000,respectively.Of the total cases in males,syphilis,gonorrhea and condyloma acuminatum cases accounted for 93.92%.Of the total cases in females,syphilis,genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection and condyloma acuminatum cases accounted for 93.94%.The age group of 20~<30 years old has the highest proportion(27.83%),followed by the groups of 60 years and older,and 30 to under 40 years old,accounting for 22.72%and 21.56%,respectively.The occupational distribution was mainly among homemakers and the unemployed,commercial services,and retirees accounting for 47.67%,14.29%and 13.62%,respectively.Conclusions The reported incidence rates of STDs showed a steady declining trend in Erqi district from 2018 to 2022,but it still needs to strengthen publicity,education and treatment for reducing the incidence rates of STDs,especial syphilis,genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection and gonorrhea.
