Effect of Maca American Ginseng tablets on alleviating physical fatigue in animal exreriments
Objective To evaluate the anti-fatigue effects of Maca American Ginseng tablets in an animal molde. Methods Four identical experiment were conducted. In each experiment,forty-eight BALB/c mice were randomly divided into four groups:a solvent control group and three experimental groups receiving low(0.35 g/kg),midium(0.70 g/kg),and high(2.10 g/kg)doses of Maca American Ginseng Tablets. The control group was given distilled water, while experimental groups were gavage administrated with the respective dosages for 30 consecutive days.Subsequently, the load-bearing swimming time, hepatic glycogen contents, serum urea contents, and blood lactate levels were measured. Results Mice in the medium and high-dose groups exhibited increased load-bearing swimming times of(8.80±0.69)min and(9.35±1.05)min,respectively,compared to the solvent control group(all P<0.05).Hepatic glycogen content was elevated in the low(3 101±305 mg/100 g),medium(3 209±265 mg/100 g),and high(3 503±398 mg/100 g)dose groups significantly higher than those in the solvent control group(all P<0.05).Serum urea content was reduced in the medium(12.03±0.95 mmol/L)and high-dose(11.53±0.86 mmol/L)groups compared to those in the solvent control group(all P<0.05).Post-exercise blood lactate levels were lower in in the in medium(145.17±10.49)and high-dose(138.66±10.78)groups compared to the solvent control group(all P<0.05).Conclusions Maca American Ginseng tablets effectively alleviate physical fatigue, potentially through increased hepatic glycogen storage,t reduced amino acid metabolite levels, and accelerated lactate metabolic clearance during recovery.
