Simultaneous determination of five disinfection by-products and perchlorate in finished water by UPLC-MS/MS
Objective To establish an ultra-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for the determina-tion of dichloroacetic acid, trichloroacetic acid, bromate, chlorate, chlorite and perchlorate in finished water. Methods The water samples were filtered by 0.22 μm hydrophilic membrane, then were separated on the Acclaim Trinity P1 Column(100 mm×2.1 mm,3.0 μm)and analyzed using gradient elution of acetonitrile-20 mmol/L ammonium formate, electrospray negative ion mode, and multi-reaction monitoring mode.By comparing the matrix effect, six target substances were quantitatively analyzed by the standard curve method prepared by ultra-pure water. Results The six target substances all showed good linear relationships within the linear range(r≥0.995),with a detection limit of 0.068-0.800 μg/L and a quantification limit of 0.14-2.40 μg/L.The spike experiments with low, medium and high concentrations were carried out with tap water as the base, and the average recovery rates were from 88.6%-105.3%,and the ranges of relative standard deviation were from 1.5%-5.6%.Conclusions The proposed method is rapid, simple, sensitive and reproducible, and can be used for the detection of the five disinfection by-products and perchlorate in finished water.
