Risk Management and Engineering Consultation Practices and Reflections on a Typical Heavy Metal Contaminated Site in Hunan
Taking the risk management and control project of a typical manganese mining and beneficiation site in Hunan Province,China,as an example, this article takes effective risk control measures for the long-term disorderly mining and random accumulation of heavy metal-containing waste. The on-site waste is categorized based on its characteristics and managed accordingly. The waste residue and sediment washed into ponds and the bottom sediment are dredged, dried, and then managed together. The wastewater is treated to meet the discharge standards. The risk management and control effects of this project have achieved the expected goals. The selected technology is mature and has good promotional value, providing a reference for similar heavy metal-contaminated site risk management and control projects.
