Objective The purpose of this study is to investigate the important role of ecological environment and health literacy(EHL)level in the training of students in higher education and to suggest countermeasures. Methods The questionnaire was designed by ourselves with reference to the questionnaire for residents of the min-istry of ecology and environment. The chi-square test was used to compare students'EHL levels at the overall,first-level dimension and second-level dimension.Linear regression was used to describe the relationship between the overall and the first-level dimension. The binary logistic regression was used to verify whether the basic information was related to the EHL.Results 691 survey questionnaires were finished, and 406 of them were qualified and the effective rate was 58.75%.The overall EHL level of undergraduate students in this university was 58.87%.Medi-cal students'knowledge rate of basic concepts in the first-level dimension(67.41%>56.83%)was higher than others, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Differences in gender, grade, major and stage of study in second-level dimension were statistically significant for students in higher education(P<0.05).Linear re-gression analysis showed a significant association between EHL level and the first-level dimension(F=320.133,P<0.001).And EHL level in the second-level dimension was significantly correlated with grade level(P<0.05).Conclusion Students of a university in Xi'an have high EHL level.Differences in gender, grade level and spe-cialty all have a significant effect on EHL level.
