The Clinical Research of Acute Gouty Arthritis Treated with Zhibai Dihuang Decoction Accompanied with Chinese Medicine External Application
Objective:To observe the clinical effect of acute gouty arthritis treated with Zhibai Dihuang Decoction accompanied with Chinese medicine external application.Methods:95 patients with acute gouty arthritis were randomly divided into the control group with 47 cases and the treatment group with 48 cases.The patients in the control group were given colchicine for oral administration,one tablet each time and three times a day on the first day,then two times on the 2nd and 3rd day,and one tablet each time and one time each day from the 4th day when there was symptom relief.Patients in the treatment group were given Zhibai Dihuang Decoction accompanied with Chinese medicine external application on the basis of control group treatment,with 15 days as a period of treatment.Results:After the treatment,clinical symptoms of patients in both groups,such as joint pain,swelling,fever,dysfunction,and etc.,were improved than these before the treatment.The improved degree of patients in the treatment group was much better than that of the control group,and the changes of symptom score in treatment group was more obvious.And the difference was significant (P ＜ 0.05) ; Blood sedimentation and uric acid levels were lower than before the treatment,especially the treatment group decreased significantly.The difference between before and after the treatment was significant (P ＜0.05) ;The efficiency rate of the control group was 91.6％,while that of treatment group was 78.7％,and the difference between them was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05) Conclusion:Combined treatment of Zhibai Dihuang Decoction with Chinese medicine external application could improved such symptoms as joint pain,swelling and inconvenient flexion,and reduced uric acid and blood sedimentation effectively.
