Clinical Study on the Treatment of Rib Fracture with Eight-Ingredient Powder for External Application
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Eight-Ingredient Powder for external application on rib fracture and its influence on pain degree.Methods:A total of 68 patients with rib fracture were divided into the control group and the study group according to the random number table method,with 34 cases in each group.The control group was given conventional conservative treatment with chest plate,while the study group was given self-made Eight-Ingredient Powder on the basis of the control group.The clinical efficacy and in-cidence of complications of the two groups were observed,and the changes of pain degree[visual analogue scale(VAS)]score,swell-ing degree,thoracic mobility,inflammatory factors[including tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-1β(IL-1 β),interleukin-10(IL-10)]and bone metabolism indexes[bone alkaline phosphatase(BALP),bone gla protein(BGP)]before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results:The effective rate of the study group was 94.12％,which was higher than 76.47％of the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the VAS score and swelling score of the two groups were lower than those before treat-ment,while the thoracic mobility was higher than that before treatment and the difference between the two groups was statistically signif-icant(P＜0.05);The levels of TNF-α,IL-1 β and IL-10 in the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the study group's above indexes were lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05);The levels of BALP and BGP in the two groups were higher than those before treatment,and the study group's above levels were higher than those of the control group(P＜0.05).The incidence of complications in the study group was 2.94％,which was lower than that in the control group(23.53％,P＜0.05).Conclusion:Eight-Ingredient Powder for external application in the treatment of rib fractures can significantly relieve pain and swelling,improve thoracic activity,reduce inflammatory factor levels,increase bone metabolism indexes,and promote bone healing.
