Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of staged"cross moxibustion"therapy on primary dysmenorrhea(PD)with syn-drome of cold congeal and blood stasis. Methods:A total of 72 PD patients with syndrome of cold congeal and blood stasis were selected and divided into the cross moxibustion group and the ibuprofen group according to the random number table method, with 36 cases in each group. The ibuprofen group was treated with Ibuprofen Sustained-Release Capsules when menstrual pain occurred, while the cross moxibustion group was treated with staged"cross moxibustion"therapy. The changes in visual analogue score(VAS),serum prosta-glandin F2α(PGF2α)before and after treatment and clinical efficacy of the two groups were observed. Results:After treatment, the PGF2α level in the cross moxibustion group was lower than that in the ibuprofen group, with statistically significant difference(P<0.05);the VAS score in the cross moxibustion group was lower than that in the ibuprofen group and follow-up,with statistically signifi-cant difference(P<0.05);the effective rate in the ibuprofen group was 69.4%,and that in the cross moxibustion group was 91.7%,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:The short-term and long-term efficacy of staged"cross moxibustion"therapy for PD with syndrome of cold congeal and blood stasis is better than that of Ibuprofen Sustained-Release Capsules, and its mech-anism may be related to reducing the production and release of PGF2α in the endometrium.
