Research Progress of TCM in the Treatment of Diabetic Cardiomyopathy Based on NF-κB Pathway
Nuclear factor kappa-B(NF-κB)is an important factor in regulating gene transcription, and is involved in the pathological process of inflammation and myocardial fibrosis and other diseases.TCM regulates diabetic cardiomyopathy by activating NF-κB pathway and controlling different genes involved in oxidative stress, inflammation, endothelial dysfunction, fibrosis, myocardial hypertrophy and apoptosis. At present, there are the following problems in the research of Chinese medicinal monomers, patent Chinese medicine and compound Chinese medicinal formulas targeting NF-κB signaling pathway in the treatment of diabetic cardiomyopathy:(1)Most of the relevant research is focused on Chinese medicine extracts, and there are few studies on the effects of single Chinese medicinal,com-pound formula,Chinese medicinal preparations.(2)These studies generally only focus on NF-κB pathway, and there is no cross-study on the complex interaction between pathways. It is the key to clarify the interaction between pathways to clarify the mechanism of action of Chinese medicinals.(3)Most of the studies are mainly based on in vitro cell experiments and animal experiments, and there is a lack of clinical research to further verify and support. In the future, the research objects should be gradually expanded, not only including Chinese medicinal monomer, but also involving single Chinese medicinal, compound Chinese medicinal formulas and Chinese medicinal preparation, and it is necessary to cover a variety of dosage forms, highlighting the characteristics of TCM different from Western medi-cine;at the same time,we should pay attention to the correlation between signaling pathways,so as to clarify the complete mechanism of TCM action on the disease. We should also focus on the further experimental and clinical research on the regulation of this pathway from the perspectives of molecular, cytological, biological and other multidisciplinary.
