In Treatise on Blood Syndromes,Tang Zonghai elaborated on the mechanism of lesser yang triple energizer oil film and blood syndromes in detail.Based on the principle of"harmonizing lesser yang pivot,regulating the ascending,descending,exiting and entering of qi movement",he skillfully changed the formulas,emphasized the meaning rather than the form of the classics,used drugs well,judged the appropriateness and taboos,paid more attention to modification to treat new syndromes,and formed his unique experience in using Minor Bupleurum Decoction.In terms of treating blood syndromes,Tang Zonghai was good at using Minor Bupleurum Decoction.For severe blood stasis and obstructed the flow of qi,he would use it to regulate qi and resolve blood stasis.If a woman experiences preg-nancy obstruction after vomiting blood,which belongs to the middle energizer mechanism disorder and is affected by the combination of fire and qi,he would use it to regulate liver qi and harmonize the middle energizer.If a woman's uterus qi and blood is in disorder,cau-sing the thorough pulse to lose its control,then he would use it to regulate the blood chamber and reduce the reverse counterflow of qi.For external pathogens leading to blood deficiency combined with exterior syndrome,he would use it to regulate and harmonize nutrient-defense qi,remove cold and heat.If a woman has postpartum depression,closed yang qi,blocked body fluid transportation and a dry throat,he would use it to dredge fluid and triple energizer.If liver qi is not dispersed,the minister fire is stagnated or liver qi is hyperac-tive disturbing blood aspect,he would use it to resolve stagnated fire and clear heat.
