Clinical Observation of Acupuncture with Thumbtack Needle in the Treatment of Subacute Thyroiditis
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture with thumbtack needle on subacute thyroiditis(SAT).Methods:A total of 110 patients with SAT were divided into the treatment group and the control group according to the random number table meth-od,with 55 cases in each group.The control group was given Diclofenac Sodium Sustained-Release Tablets for oral administration,while the treatment group was given acupuncture with thumbtack needle on the basis of the control group,without taking Prednisone Acetate Tablets.The TCM syndrome scores,score reduction rate,thyroid swelling pain disappearing time,erythrocyte sedimentation rate normal time,thyroid iodine uptake rate returning to normal time,serum amyloid A(SAA),tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-β,interleukin(IL)-6,clinical efficacy and recurrence rate after one year were observed in the two groups before and after treatment.Results:After treatment,the TCM syndrome scores of the treatment group were lower than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The score reduction rate of TCM syndrome scores of the treatment group was 71.1%,which was higher than that of the control group(36.7%),with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The levels of SAA,TNF-β,IL-6 in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The disappearance time of thyroid swell-ing and pain,the recovery time of erythrocyte sedimentation rate and the recovery time of thyroid iodine uptake rate in the treatment group were shorter than those in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The effective rate of the treat-ment group was 100%,and the recurrence rate was 3.6%after one year.The effective rate of the control group was 90.9%,and the re-currence rate was 16.4%after one year.The effective rate of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group,while the re-currence rate after one year was lower than that of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture with thumbtack needle in the treatment of SAT can relieve the clinical symptoms of patients more quickly,improve the TCM syndromes,reduce the levels of SAA,TNF-β,IL-6 and the recurrence rate.
