Study on Traditional Chinese Medicine Conducting Exercise for Functional Constipation
Qi and blood are closely related to constipation,stagnation of qi and abnormal flow of fu qi leading to constipation.Improper diet,fatigue,old age and weak physique,qi deficiency and yang decline,weak transmission,lead to constipation in the large intestine.Constant yin deficiency in the body,insufficient blood,and loss of lubrication in the intestines lead to dry stools.Blood stasis can easily block the qi flow,leading to unsmooth qi and obstruction of the internal organs,resulting in constipation.If blood stasis is not removed,new blood will not generate,blood stasis will accumulate inside the body,and there is no way to produce new blood to moisten the large intestine,leading to constipation.TCM conducting exercise can treat functional constipation by regulating qi and blood,unblocking me-ridians,and calming the mind.Based on the method of conducting exercise and its ideas in Treatise on the Origins and Manifestations of Various Diseases,a series of formulas for treating functional constipation with conducting exercise are created,which include holding up and pressing down,beggars exercise,"Hu"pithy formula,rubbing the abdomen,etc.,with a smaller range of movements,making it more suitable for middle-aged and elderly patients with functional constipation.However,currently propaganda intensity of TCM con-ducting exercise is not enough,and some practitioners have not mastered their basic principles,making it difficult to achieve satisfactory results.In the future,the propaganda intensity of conducting exercise can be expanded,and complex techniques should be simplified.
