Clinical Observation of the Treatment of Oligoasthenozoospermia with Xuduan Zhongzi Formula Combined with Acupuncture and Moxibustion
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Xuduan Zhongzi Formula combined with acupuncture and moxibustion on oli-goasthenozoospermia.Methods:A total of 60 patients with oligoasthenozoospermia having kidney essence deficiency syndrome were se-lected from the Andrology Outpatient Clinic of The First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine between October 2022 and September 2023,and randomly divided into the combination group,the group of Chinese drugs,and the control group,with 20 cases in each group.The combination group received Xuduan Zhongzi Formula combined with acupuncture and moxibustion treatment;the group of Chinese drugs received only the Xuduan Zhongzi Formula treatment;while the control group received oral L-carnitine solu-tion.The TCM syndromes'efficacy,clinical efficacy,total sperm count per ejaculation,progressive motility(PR)percentage,and TCM syndrome scores,etc.were observed in the three groups.Results:The TCM syndromes'efficacy rate in the combination group was 94.44%,and the clinical efficacy rate was 88.89%.In the group of Chinese drugs,the TCM syndromes'efficacy rate was 84.21%,and theclinical efficacyratewas78.94%.In the control group,the TCM syndromes'efficacy rate was50.00%,and the clinical efficacy rate was 66.67%.The rates of TCM syndromes and clinical efficacy in the combination group were significantly higher than those in the group of Chinese drugs and the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment,the total sperm count per ejaculation in the combination group was higher than that in the group of Chinese drugs and the control group,with statistically sig-nificant differences(P<0.05).The PR percentage in the combination group and the group of Chinese drugs was higher than that in the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).However,there was no statistically significant difference between the combination group and the group of Chinese drugs(P>0.05).The TCM syndrome scores in the combination group were higher than those in the group of Chinese drugs and the control group after treatment,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclu-sion:Xuduan Zhongzi Formula combined with acupuncture and moxibustion can improve the total sperm count per ejaculation and PR percentage in patients with oligoasthenozoospermia having kidney essence deficiency syndrome and reduce TCM syndrome scores.
