Study on Feasibility of Regulating Core Muscle Function in Post-Stroke Spastic Hemiplegia Through Abdominal Penetration Moxibustion Therapy Based on the"Gut-Muscle Axis"Theory
The recovery of balance, motor function, and daily living abilities in post-stroke spastic hemiplegia patients is directly related to the improvement of core muscles'stability. Thus, enhancing core muscle quality and improving balance function is a key focus in the treatment of post-stroke spastic hemiplegia.The"gut-muscle axis"theory believes that the gut microbiota is closely related to skeletal muscle quality, function, and metabolism.Alterations in the composition and structure of gut microbiota can change their metabolic prod-ucts,thereby affecting muscle status.Exercise, diet, probiotic supplementation, and antibiotics can regulate gut microbiota and their me-tabolites,influencing muscles'function.Abdominal penetration moxibustion therapy, with its ample warming effect and large application area, can regulate the composition and structure of gut microbiota, restore gut microbiota homeostasis, and enhance core muscles' func-tion through various pathways. This,in turn, improves balance control and alleviates the condition of spastic hemiplegia, making it a po-tential intervention target for treating post-stroke spastic hemiplegia.
