Clinical Study on Modified Eight-Ingredient Rectification Powder in the Treatment of Recurrent Urinary Tract Infection with Syndrome of Down-Pouring Dampness-Heat
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Eight-Ingredient Rectification Powder on recurrent urinary tract infection(RU-TI)with syndrome of down-pouring dampness-heat.Methods:A total of 80 RUTI patients with syndrome of down-pouring dampness-heat were randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group,with 40 cases in each group.The experimental group received Modified Eight-Ingredient Rectification Powder for treatment,while the control group was treated with Levofloxacin Tablets.The clinical efficacy,recurrence rates,adverse reactions,and changes in TCM syndrome scores,as well as serum indicators[including white blood cell count,C-reactive protein(CRP),and procalcitonin(PCT)]and urine routine tests[including white blood cell count and bacterial count)]before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results:The effective rate in the experimental group was 100.00％,and 72.50％in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores for prima-ry and secondary symptoms in both groups were lower than those before treatment,with the experimental group scoring lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05).Serum white blood cell count,CRP,and PCT levels were significantly lower than those before treatment in both groups,and the experimental group's white blood cell count and PCT levels were lower than those of the control group(P＜0.05).Urinary white blood cell count and bacterial count were significantly lower than those before treatment in both groups(P＜0.05),but there were no significant differences in white blood cell count and bacterial count between the two groups(P＞0.05).Dur-ing the 6-month follow-up,the average recurrence frequency in the experimental group was less than that in the control group(P＜0.05),with a recurrence rate of 27.50％in the experimental group compared to 62.50％in the control group,showing a significant difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Eight-Ingredient Rectification Powder is effective in treating RUTI patients with syndrome of down-pouring dampness-heat,and can significantly improve TCM syndrome scores,reduce serum inflammatory indicators,urine routine indica-tors,and recurrence rates.
