Clinical Study on Supplemented Three-Seed Decoction in the Treatment of Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease with Syndrome of Phlegm-Stasis Blocking the Lung
Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Supplemented Three-Seed Decoction on acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD)with syndrome of phlegm-stasis blocking the lung, and its effects on patients' clinical symptoms and blood-qi indexes. Methods:A total of 92 patients with phlegm-stasis lung-blocking type AECOPD were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group, with 46 cases in each group. The control group received conventional Western medicine treatment, while the observation group was treated with Supplemented Three-Seed Decoction in addition to the conventional treatment.Clinical effi-cacy,TCM syndrome scores, inflammatory markers[including interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),C-reactive pro-tein(CRP)],blood-qi indexes[including arterial oxygen partial pressure(PaO2),arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure(PaCO2),arterial oxygen saturation(SaO2),pH],and dyspnea levels before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores of both groups were lower than those before treatment, and the observation group had signifi-cantly lower scores than those of the control group(P<0.05).The effective rate in the control group was 76.09%,while that in the observation group was 93.48%,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The levels of IL-6,TNF-α,and CRP were lower than those before treatment, and the observation group had significantly lower levels than those of the control group(P<0.05).PaCO2 was lower than that before treatment, while PaO2,SaO2,and pH were higher than those before treatment, and all the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).The CAT scores after treatment were lower than those before treatment, with the ob-servation group showing significantly lower scores than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Supplemented Three-Seed Decoction can improve the clinical efficacy in treating phlegm-stasis lung-blocking type AECOPD,reduce inflammatory markers, and improve clini-cal symptoms,blood-qi indexes, and the degree of dyspnea.
