Autism spectrum disorder(ASD)are a group of developmental brain disorders that occur in early childhood development and are characterized by impaired social communication and interaction,narrow range of interests or activities,and repetitive and stereotyped behaviors.Currently,there is a wealth of experience in treating ASD with integrated Chinese and western medicine in children,but there is a lack of standardization and evidence-based medical basis in the clinical practice.Based on relevant guidelines and research progress in Chinese and western medicine at home and abroad,this consensus was developed through a combination of literature research,questionnaire surveys,and expert meetings,which provides an important clinical reference for the rational application of Chinese and western medicine in ASD prevention and treatment in children.The consensus is a comprehensive expert opinion at a stage and will be continuously improved and updated as new evidence-based medical basis for it becomes available.
