"Multi-hit"pathogenesis of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease based on the theory of latent pathogenic qi
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)is a common metabolic liver disease in clinic, which often causes liver cirrhosis and"inflammation-cancer"transformation in the later stage. The disease is characterized by"multi-hit"of superimposed injuries of multiple pathogenic factors across different time and spaces, and this"multi-hit"effect is in line with the characteristics of the TCM theory of"latent pathogenic qi causing disease".That is,the latent phlegm, blood stasis, and toxins remain in the body, gradually accumulating and blocking the liver collaterals,or damaging them. Therefore,it is believed that the removal of latent phlegm, blood stasis, and toxins in the body can effectively prevent the"multi-hit"associated with NAFLD.This paper aims to provide new treatment ideas for clinical practice.
