Cardio-oncology,as an emerging discipline in recent years,involves the cardiovascular lesions caused by tumors or anti-tumor therapies,which seriously affect the survival and prognosis of tumor patients.Currently,treatment for cardio-oncologic diseases mostly follows the clinical guidelines for the corresponding cardiovascular diseases,and treatment protocols need improving.Based on the theory of"blood stasis and toxicity",and according to the characteristics of patients with cardio-oncologic diseases,such as hypercoagulability and active inflammatory reaction,this paper has proposed that the Chinese medicine pathogenesis of such diseases is"deficiency as the root,blood stasis as the norm,and toxicity as the change.""Deficiency,blood stasis,and toxicity"are the causes and effects of each other.That is to say,the weak constitution of patients due to long-term disease results in qi and blood blockage in the vessels,thus producing static blood.The static blood brings on the generation of heat toxin,and they clump together and hinder the circulation of qi and blood in turn,worsening the weakness of the body.Chinese medicines for tonifying qi,circulating blood,and removing toxins can inhibit the inflammatory response,regulate coagulation function,and protect the vascular endothelium through multiple pathways and targets,thus improving cardiac function.Therefore,"tonifying qi,circulating blood,and removing toxins"has been proposed as a general therapeutic principle throughout the whole course of cardio-oncologic diseases.This paper aims to provide new ideas for the clinical diagnosis and treatment of cardio-oncologic diseases.
