The farmland mortgage loans are an important measure to ease the constraints on rural financing,promote com-mon prosperity and ensure food safety.Based on the data from China Migrants Dynamic Survey(2017),this paper explores the influence of the farmland mortgage loans on farmland abandonment of the migrant households.The conclusion shows that the pilot program of mortgage loans has generally inhibited the farmland abandonment by migrant households,mainly through promoting labor employment and the transfer of farmland;The pilot program of farmland mortgage loans has signifi-cantly weakened the tendency of migrant households to abandon farmland due to labor shortages,capital outflows,and in-creased settlement willingness;In the areas with high degrees of farmland ownership confirmation,development of agricul-tural land transfer market and high level of financial deepening,the mortgage financing of farmland transfer markets,and fi-nancial development,the pilot program of farmland mortgage loans has a more significant inhibitory effect on farmland aban-donment.The research conclusion provides a reference for playing the role of farmland mortgage loans to control the farm-land abandonment.
