Model Test on Shape Optimization of Air Entraining Facilities in Free Flow Tunnel with High Flow Rate and Large Flow Rate
Spillway structures with high water head, large flow and high flow velocity often need to set up aeration facilities to reduce cavitation damage.Based on the example of a water conservancy project in Xinjiang, the hydraulic model test of flood discharge and sand flushing tunnel was carried out to optimize the design of the bucket height, ventilation hole area, slope ratio and type of No.1 and No.2 air entraining facilities. The results show that after the shape optimization, under various working conditions, the aeration effect of the air entraining facility is good, the aeration cavity is complete and stable, and there is no unfavorable flow pattern such as large backwater under the ridge; The ventilation of the ventilation hole is smooth, the overall flow pattern is smooth, and there is no adverse phenomenon such as water wing splashing to the top of the tunnel; The residual amplitude along the way meets the requirements; The flow capacity and flow coefficient are basically consistent with the original design. The research results can provide guidance and technical support for the study of the shape of air entraining facilities in similar projects.
