Research on Flip Bucket Shape in Spillway of a Hydropower Station
A hydropower station is located in a high mountain canyon area,the discharge structure is arranged on the right bank,and the downstream river channel of the spillway outlet is very narrow.The energy dissipation design of the outlet should fully consider the impact on the downstream bank slope and avoid the top rushing to the opposite bank.Therefore,it is necessary to focus on the study of the flip bucket shape.Through the hydraulic model test,combined with the engineering characteristics,the buckets of different shapes are analyzed,and the four-slit differential flip bucket shape is finally recommended.The results show that the flow pattern of the four-slit differential flip bucket is better under various working conditions;The water tongue is pulled apart longitudinally and the falling point is in the middle of the river,which has little influence on the slope of both banks and can meet the requirements of safe operation of the project.The research results can provide reference for the energy dissipation design of spillway in narrow riverbed.
