In view of a multipoint fault of residual hammer, rain flashover, arc wind deviation and broken line of glass insulator string on two adjacent straight-line poles of 35 kV transmission line, the causes of the fault are analyzed, and improvement measures are put forward. The results showed that only two insulators and one residual hammer in the A-phase two-piece string of the 19th pole of the line experienced continuous intermittent rain flashes, the minimum number of insulators per string is less than the required value in the specifications after deducting the residual hammer, and the delay tripping of single-phase rain flashover fault is the main cause of the fault; The 35 kV line adopts four glass insulator strings or uses composite insulators to enhance the recoverable insulation,anti-pollution and arc extinguishing performance of the insulator strings, which can prevent such faults from occurring.
